What's Going On

It's been a while since I wrote about all of my kids, so here it goes...

This past month Andrew worked really hard at school. They had a Jazz reading contest. The school that read the most got to meet a Jazz player. Pony Express lost the contest; however, Andrew read the most in his class. Next week Andrew gets to be in a "Fear Factor" assembly to honor him. Andrew is really nervous for it. I guess we'll see how it goes. Other news. Andrew is playing basketball. The name of his team is the "Chargers." Andrew is working really hard to get his "Wolf" in scouts.

Brody is a happy boy. It doesn't take a lot to make him content. He's enjoying kindergarten. I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but several times when he didn't have school (Such as the weekend), he has gotten his backpack and waited at the door for the bus. Brody loves playing video games. (He's a lot better at the Wii and Playstation then me!) He's starting to learn how to read, and I couldn't be more proud of him.
Abby has been spending a lot of time with her cousin Jessie. Those two girls are inseparable. Every day when she wakes up she asks me "What are we going to do today?" If I tell her I don't know, she always pipes up, "I know, I can play with Jessie." Abby has also enjoyed Mommy Preschool. I've enjoyed it too. Abby's always so excited when she finds out that it's at our house. I think the other kids have fun here too. Something else. Abby and Bree are little artists. Every day they color pictures for friends and family. Abby even made her own "Scrapbook."

Bree has become quite the little chatterbox. She use to hardly ever say a word, so it's been fun to see this change. She loves to sing songs from primary. My favorite song I've heard her sing is "A Sunbeam." Bree has just about mastered toilet training. She hardly ever has accidents. -One problem I have had is convincing her to not use the toilet in our basement. The toilet in our basement isn't plumbed. I've had to clean it out about 3 times now. :) -I guess I shouldn't complain though, right?

Alyssa changes every day! No matter how many times I tell her to stay little, she just doesn't listen. :) On Wednesday the 17th, Alyssa sat up on her own. She's done it several times now and is getting more and more steady. Also, this past week, Alyssa grabbed her rails in her crib and pulled herself up. She does it every time she wakes up now. May I just say, she's a quick little thing. She scares me to death sometimes. I'm so afraid that she's going to fall and hurt herself.

Pandas, Rhinos, and Koalas

For preschool on Thursday we talked about pandas, koalas and rhinos. All of the kids made their own panda bear cookie.

I think they turned out pretty cute. We frosted sugar cookies, and used mini oreos and chocolate chips to decorate them.

Bree made one too!

Tigers and Armadillos ...Oh My!

I'm teaching my daughter's preschool this week. Our theme this month is "Mammals." Today I spoke about tigers and armadillos.

We each colored a picture of a armadillo and glued macaroni with glitter glue, (Very cool).

Then we made these cool masks. Aren't they scary!

Kari's Baptism

My sweet little niece Kari was baptized last Saturday. It was wonderful being being able to share that special day with her. I just wanted to congratulate her!

Is There Anything He Can't Do?

Is there anything he can't do???

This past weekend Aaron fixed our car. The heat wasn't working and the car was overheating if you went more than 10 miles. We thought we were going to need a new radiator and it would cost us 100's 0f dollars, but no. We had a hole in the tube that connected the radiator to the engine. Aaron bought a new tube, some fasteners, and a couple of tools to help him remove the old tube.

Total cost was around $20.

Back to the question I asked before.
Is there anything he can't do???
The only thing I can think of is taking a normal picture! :D

Beaver Fever

Sunday morning when I got home from work, Aaron told me and the kids to pack a bag cause we were going on a trip. All of us scrambled to get our things together, then we piled into our van. We headed south and ended up in ...(drum roll please)Beaver!

We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites, and we had a blast!

We stayed in a Suite which had 2 queen beds and one pull out bed. The hotel had a NICE indoor pool and hot tub which we basically had to ourselves. Oh and I can't forget continental breakfast!

You can see our hotel in the background.

On the way home we got what I like to call "Squeaky" cheese. Delicious!

We stopped at my Grandma Nelson's on the way home. She lives in Fountain Green, and we don't get to see her as much as we'd like.

We had a wonderful visit with her. Thank you for everything Grandma. We love you!

Valentine's Day Movie

I love this goofy guy!

We made it to the movie "Valentine's Day" Friday night, (but just barely). I was REALLY sick Friday night. -I'm not sure where it came from, but I had a nasty stomach flu Friday night through Saturday afternoon. I had to run to the bathroom several times while we were at the theater. Me and "Jon" became good friends. :)
The movie was really cute from what I saw of it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun date night.Trent and Deanna went to the movie with us. Thanks for putting up with me guys.
Aaron and I after the movie. (No I didn't see a ghost)

We ate at Joe's Crab Shack. Aaron and Deanna had crab legs, Trent had fish and chips, and I had coconut shrimp.

Buccaneer Birthday Bash

Last Friday, Abby went to birthday party for her friend Spencer. The birthday party was a "Pirate Party," and everyone dressed up. Here's a picture I took of Abby just before she left. Isn't she adorable? She had a wonderful time at the party and she got a lot of cool treats. Thanks Spencer and Becky!

Wedding Crashers

Al and Cheryl (Jeff is in the background)

Last Thursday, I and several of my friends from Project Reality went to a wedding reception. the reception was for our friend, (Jana Johnson's son). Her son Kyler and married a girl named Caybree. The reception was in Lindon. I had a really good time. It was nice to meet Cheryl's daughter Tierney and Jeff's wife Kat.

This pic is for Al. Al really digged these nylons! :)

Good Times

I was kind of bummed Sunday afternoon. I had to go to work, and I REALLY wanted to stay home with my family and watch the Superbowl. As I pulled into American Fork, the radio station KSOP announced that they were going to give away tickets for the Valentine's Day movie to the 10th caller. I quickly pulled out my phone and dialed their number. After about 4 or 5 tries, I was finally able to get through. And guess what ...I won. Yay! Aaron and I now have a date for Friday night.

Align CenterI picked up the tickets at KSOP's office yesterday in SLC. Their office and my Dad's work (Printelligent AKA Franklin Covey) is really close. I decided that since I was in the neighborhood, I might as well call my dad. My Dad was so sweet. He gave me directions to get to his office, and he met us at the door. We got an amazing tour and we got to meet several of my dad's friends. The picture above is my dad's desk/cubicle.
I think this is one of their printers. Bree was a little uneasy by all of these machines.

This was inside the warehouse. A lot of assembly lines in here. I've never seen so many dayplanners in my life. Thanks for the tour Dad. My girls and I had a wonderful time!

McD's

I took my girls out to lunch today. We met up with Grandma Walker, Aunt Deana, and their cousin Jessie. We went to Mcdonalds in Lehi. They recently updated their playground. My girls thought it was great and had a wonderful time. Here are some pics from our visit.Alyssa loved her chocolate chip cookie the best

Abby ate most of her meal, but then she was just "Too full to finish"

Bree of course had to follow her sister. This was the best that she could do.

Watch Out For Those Girls

Andrew had a little accident Monday morning at school. While he was at recess, he slipped on the ice and did a face plant in the snow. He scraped up his nose and cut his gum. Aaron has been teasing him all week saying "Poor Andrew! A little girl beat him up at school." Andrew gets so mad. I have to laugh.

Organizational Skills

Over the weekend, Aaron and I tried to become a little more organized. We cleaned our basement and did a little more deep cleaning than usual. Abby had so much fun helping, that Monday morning she decided to organize her closet. She found the match to every shoe. Kudos to Abby. Now I need to make a trip to the DI. :)

Here's a little story Andrew wrote at school. Isn't he "Awesome"
